Tricep Rope Extension


The tricep rope extension is an awesome exercise for isolating the triceps and making them burn! The rope allows for a greater range of motion and forces your tricep muscles to work independently of each other. Many bodybuilders use the tricep rope extension as a support exercise after doing the bigger tricep exercises like skullcrushers and close grip bench press.

Tricep Rope Extension
Exercise Name: Tricep rope extension
Equipment Used: Cable machine, rope
Muscles Worked: Tricep
Variations: (this is a variation of the tricep extension)
How To Do:
  1. Adjust the cable machine so the pulley is as high as it goes and attach the rope
  2. Grip the rope with thumbs facing up and pull down until your forearms are parallel with the floor (this is the start of the exercise)
  3. Keep your elbows tucked in, and straighten your arms. Your arms should be extended all the way.
  4. Now lower the weight back up until your forearms are parellel to the floor again.
  5. Repeat steps 2-4 for desired reps

Good technique tips: Technique is important for the rope extension to isolate your tricep muscles. Never let your hands touch together and don't bring your arms up to high (your forearms should be parallel to the floor). Make sure you keep your elbows tucked in at your sides.
